Photo Explorer Tours is dedicated to developing a program of custom tours, some scheduled and others with flexible dates, that provide efficient and economical access to some of the world's best photographic opportunities. Founded in 1981 as China Photo Workshop Tours by award-winning travel photographer and China specialist Dennis Cox, Photo Explorer Tours has expanded its tours program since 1996 to include a series of exciting new destinations around the world to complement our highly successful program of China tours. Working directly with carefully selected tour companies and photo tour guides at each destination who understand the special needs of photographers, we provide two programs of tours for your participation.

NEW TOUR! Eastern TURKEY Explorer with Dennis Cox, June 1-15, 2008. CONFIRMED DEPARTURE. For 2008 we turn our attention to Turkey's vast Far East, to the scenic Black Sea coast and to the beautiful plains, deserts, and black mountains of the southeast for this adventurous new itinerary. Ancient mosques, medieval ruins and citadels, gloriously sited fortresses, beehive houses and biblical sites, and a blend of Turkish, Armenian, Kurdish and other photogenic peoples are just a few of the myriad photo opportunities that await. Price for this tour is $4195, sharing an air-conditioned double room (single room supplement is $695). The land price will include all ground transportation in Turkey in comfortable air-conditioned van, two domestic flights, lodging, breakfast and dinner daily, all admission fees and boat ride on Lake Van, and and the services of a truly outstanding English-speaking photo guide.

OLD FAVORITE! Western TURKEY Explorer, September 13-27, 2008.The best of Western Turkey is a popular itinerary we have offered annually since 1978. This year we offer it in our new Special Tours for Special Photographers tours program, as well as here as a scheduled tour. Included are Istanbul, Cappadocia, Konya, Antalya, Pamukkale, Kusadasi, Ephesus, Pergamum, Assos, and Troy. Price for this tour is $3595, sharing an air-conditioned double room (single room supplement is $595). The land price will include all ground transportation in Turkey in a comfortable air-conditioned van, domestic flight, lodging, breakfast and dinner daily, all admission fees and boat ride on Lake Van, and and the services of our outstanding English-speaking photo guide. An optional Southeast Turkey extension is available for $1350 with a minimum of four participants.
